General Knowledge DJ Drops - The generic term for sweepers, liners, and other voice imaging and voice overs. Liner - A written imaging phrase, are recorded during a break between songs and spots. Usually, Liners stand by themselves and are meant to communicate concise imaging. They are done with a music bed underneath. Sweeper
- A recorded element (voice or voice over music or sound effects)
that bridges two songs together or ID - DJ, Mixshow, or Station Identification. Aircheck - A demonstration recording, often intended to show off the talent of an announcer or radio programmer to a prospective future employer. A scoped (telescoped) aircheck usually contains only segments where the announcer is actually talking, along with a bit of the music or commercial on either side. |
